They do not interfere with any of Excel’s accessibility features.

QI Macros is also compatible with Microsoft Excel 2016-2021 and Office 365, and macOS for Macs.

They do not interfere with any of Excel's accessibility features.

QI Macros is a series of add-in macros and templates for Microsoft Excel that harness all of the accessibility features of Microsoft Excel.

(a) When software is designed to run on a system that has a keyboard, product functions shall be executable from a keyboard where the function itself or the result of performing a function can be discerned textually.

Fully Supported:

QI Macros fully supports Microsoft Windows® accessibility features.

Keyboard access is provided through keyboard shortcuts, shortcut keys, and menu commands.

All QI Macros can be run using Control-Shift key combinations.

(b) Applications shall not disrupt or disable activated features of other products that are identified as accessibility features, where those features are developed and documented according to industry standards. Applications also shall not disrupt or disable activated features of any operating system that are identified as accessibility features where the application programming interface for those accessibility features has been documented by the manufacturer of the operating system and is available to the product developer.

Fully supported:

QI Macros do not disrupt or disable any accessibility features of the operating system or Microsoft Excel.

 

(c) A well-defined on-screen indication of the current focus shall be provided that moves among interactive interface elements as the input focus changes. The focus shall be programmatically exposed so that assistive technology can track focus and focus changes.

Fully supported through Excel:

Microsoft Office supports technologies that make computer programs more accessible to people who use assistive technology. Visual on-screen focus and tracking is provided throughout Office.

 

(d) Sufficient information about a user interface element including the identity, operation and state of the element shall be available to assistive technology. When an image represents a program element, the information conveyed by the image must also be available in text.

Fully supported through Excel:

QI Macros user interface elements include menu bars, toolbars, check boxes and buttons, to name a few.

 

 

(e) When bitmap images are used to identify controls, status indicators, or other programmatic elements, the meaning assigned to those images shall be consistent throughout an application's performance.

Fully supported through Excel:

Microsoft Office utilizes standard and consistent images throughout the Office suite of applications.

 

(f) Textual information shall be provided through operating system functions for displaying text. The minimum information that shall be made available is text content, text input caret location, and text attributes.

Fully supported through Excel:

Microsoft Office uses standard system functions to send textual information to the operating system in all cases.

 

(g) Applications shall not override user selected contrast and color selections and other individual display attributes.

Fully supported through Excel:

Microsoft Office supports system-wide color settings as identified in the operating system display properties.

 

(h) When animation is displayed, the information shall be displayable in at least one non-animated presentation mode at the option of the user.

Not Applicable:

No animation.

 

(i) Color coding shall not be used as the only means of conveying information, indicating an action, prompting a response, or distinguishing a visual element.

 

Supported

QI Macros do not use color as the only means to convey chart information. QI Macros control charts that use color to convey stability information also provide alternate means of evaluating the same information, such as the shape of chart markers.

(j) When a product permits a user to adjust color and contrast settings, a variety of color selections capable of producing a range of contrast levels shall be provided.

(k) Software shall not use flashing or blinking text, objects, or other elements having a flash or blink frequency greater than 2 Hz and lower than 55 Hz.

QI Macros does not use flashing or blinking objects or text in any application User Interface.

(l) When electronic forms are used, the form shall allow people using assistive technology to access the information, field elements, and functionality required for completion and submission of the form, including all directions and cues.

Supported:

Microsoft Office electronic form templates fully support assistive technologies through the Visual Basic® for Applications (VBA) model.

All charts and forms generated using QI Macros are Excel documents and therefore accessible using the keyboard and/or any assistive technology that is supported by Microsoft Excel.

(a) At least one mode of operation and information retrieval that does not require user vision shall be provided, or support for Assistive Technology used by people who are blind or visually impaired shall be provided.

Microsoft Office supports technologies that make computer programs more accessible to people who use assistive technology. Office supports the use of screen readers to access user interface information.


QI Macros control charts provide a data sheet which contains values and text for each chart, which is readable with assistive technology.

QI Macros control chart rules file (used for chart stability analysis) is in text format, which is readable with assistive technology.

In addition to images, all QI Macros charts communicate information in text format, which is readable with assistive technology.

(b) At least one mode of operation and information retrieval that does not require visual acuity greater than 20/70 shall be provided in audio and enlarged print output working together or independently, or support for assistive technology used by people who are visually impaired shall be provided.

Supported:

Microsoft Office supports the use of screen readers to access user interface information.

Office, with few exceptions, also supports system large font settings.

QI Macros users with visual acuity of less than 20/70 may utilize the Windows Ease of Access Center to optimize display settings.

Textual information may be enlarged as needed using Excel’s spreadsheet zoom function, or by reformatting text to a larger font.

QI Macros chart elements and legends may be re-sized and re-formatted for visual needs using Excel’s formatting functions.

(c) At least one mode of operation and information retrieval that does not require user hearing shall be provided, or support for Assistive Technology used by people who are deaf or hard of hearing shall be provided.

Fully supported through Excel:

Microsoft Office does not require user hearing for access to any Office application functionality. In all instances where Office provides an audio, Office provides a visual cue as well.

 

(d) Where audio information is important for the use of a product, at least one mode of operation and information retrieval shall be provided in an enhanced auditory fashion, or support for assistive hearing devices shall be provided.

Fully supported through Excel:

Microsoft Office does not require user hearing for access to any Office application functionality. In all instances where Office provides an audio, Office provides a visual cue as well.

Volume controls are available through the operating system. In addition, an assistive aid may be used.

(e) At least one mode of operation and information retrieval that does not require user speech shall be provided, or support for Assistive Technology used by people with disabilities shall be provided.

Fully supported through Excel:

Office applications do not require speech recognition.

Microsoft Office includes speech recognition as a supplementary input and control mechanism.

 

(f) At least one mode of operation and information retrieval that does not require fine motor control or simultaneous actions and that is operable with limited reach and strength shall be provided.

Fully supported through Excel:

Microsoft Office supports operating system tools such as StickyKeys and FilterKeys as well as other assistive technologies.

The FilterKeys accessibility feature allows the user to set the keyboard repeat rate, acceptance delay and bounce rate.
