Here&#8217;s an Excel 2016 box and whisker plot:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/www.qimacros.com\/images\/blog\/excel-2016-box-whisker-chart.jpg\" alt=\"box whisker chart in excel 2016\" width=\"632\" height=\"382\" \/><\/p>\n<p>You might notice that the whiskers have a crossbar on the end. It seems to have a spare &#8220;x&#8221; in the middle of each box and it&#8217;s a little hard to see where the median is. And there are unnecessary gridlines that are\u00a0considered chartjunk. It does, however, show the outlier below the first box.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s what the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.qimacros.com\/box-and-whisker-plot-excel\/\">QI Macros Box and Whisker Plot<\/a> looks like:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/www.qimacros.com\/quality-tools\/box-whisker-plot-excel.jpg\" alt=\"box whisker plot in excel\" width=\"625\" height=\"453\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The whiskers are whiskers. The median is easily visible.
