I asked them a simple question for which they had no answer. Here&#8217;s why:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/784604260?title=0&amp;byline=0&amp;portrait=0\" width=\"720\" height=\"405\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>&#8220;Hi, I&#8217;m Jay Arthur, author of \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Lean-Six-Sigma-Hospitals-Improving\/dp\/1259641082\/\">Lean Six Sigma For Hospitals<\/a>\u201d and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.qimacros.com\/demo\/\">QI Macros [software]<\/a>.<\/p>\r\n<p>&#8220;I was at the Institute for Healthcare Improvement conference out in Orlando at the beginning of December. I was there and people were coming by and they were talking about QI Macros at the exhibit booth. You know, a number of them came up and told me a story.<\/p>\r\n<p>&#8220;This one guy came up and said, \u201cI&#8217;ve been using QI Macros\u2019 histograms to plot \u2018Incision to Close Time&#8217; and comparing all the doctors in our hospital.\u201d I said \u201cWow, that sounds like a crazy cool improvement project! Have you published anything about that? Have you created a poster for the for the show?\u201d He was like, \u201cI\u2026 I&#8217;ve never thought of that.\u201d<\/p>\r\n<p>&#8220;What crazy cool improvement project have you done? Where have you published it? You know, I read through all of the materials from <a href=\"https:\/\/asq.org\/quality-progress\">Quality Progress<\/a> to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.qualitymag.com\/\">Quality Magazine<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.qualitydigest.com\/\">Quality Digest<\/a>, and I see very, very few interesting case studies. If you want other people to get the idea that this improvement stuff is possible, you might want to publish your work.<\/p>\r\n<p>&#8220;That&#8217;s my Improvement Insight for this week.
