Each step in a process may produce seemingly good results, but the cumulative effect of defects in each step may result in a much lower yield overall.

The QI Macros SPC Software for Excel contains a rolled throughput yield calculator. You can find this tool on the QI Macros menu under Fill-in-the-blank templates, Planning Tools.

Rolled Throughput Yield Process

1. For each step in the process, input the number of defects, units produced and opportunities for defects.
2. Yield and Rolled Throughput Yield will be calculated in the two right hand columns.
