The purpose of the Radar or Spider Chart is to understand the relative sizes of various elements.

1. Each of the spokes represents one observation of one or more (multivariate) data points (in this case defects for three different plants).
2. Plant 2, for example, had the highest rate in January (an outlier), but continuously reduced their error rate over time.
3. In April, all three had similar defect rates.
4. Plant 1 had an outlier in May and Plant 3 had an outlier in July. These two plants vary up and down over time.
