Funnel Plots help analyze companies, facilities or teams.Funnel plots assist in comparing hospitals, healthcare teams and doctors to a target. Funnel-shaped "Control Limits" provide an estimate of quality. Here is an example of a Funnel Plot created using the QI Macros SPC Software for Excel. Notice that most of the organizations lie within the limits which means that ranking and comparisons would not be useful. There are, however a few outside of the limits which could benefit from improvement.
