The frequency histogram example below shows the resistance in ohms of electrical coils. There are values below the LSL and above the USL. The process capability indices (Cp and Cpk) are below 1.0, so the process is not capable of meeting customer requirements.
The frequency histogram example below shows over- and under-staffing at a hospital. As you can see, the data is skewed with very little overstaffing and a higher degree of understaffing.
The frequency histogram example below shows call center times. Ideal times are 8-10 minutes. As you can see, the distribution is skewed to the right. Cp = 1.0 which means the distribution would fit between 8-10, but Cpk =0.2 which means the process is off-center.
