To use the QI Macros Control Chart Wizard to Select the Right Control Chart

1. Just select your data:
   
   
   
2. Then select the Control Chart Wizard from the QI Macros menu. The Chart Wizard will automatically select the XmR (Individuals) chart.

If it's trying to choose between a p chart and a u chart, it will ask this question:

Answer yes for a u chart and no for a p chart. If the you want to use the XmR Trend or XMedianR, then you will have to choose that chart.

Here's how the Control Chart Wizard selects the chart:

The QI Macros SPC Software for Excel:

• Draws np, p, c, u, XmR, XbarR, XMedianR and XbarS control charts
• Calculates and draws lines for: average, + 1 sigma, +2 sigma and +3 sigma (UCL and LCL)
• Performs stability analysis and turns any unstable point or condition RED
• Allows you to add data to existing control charts and create control charts with multiple (stair step) control limits
