Airline Silliness
After a four hour flight from Philadelphia to Denver on United, we had to sit at the gate for 15 minutes waiting on someone who could move the jetway. People trying to make connections were worried.
If airlines are going to nickel and dime us to death with baggage fees and other silliness, they'd better get the rest of their service up to speed. Cross train people to work all aspects of flight operations. Never make tired travellers sit on a plane waiting on a jetway operator. That's just silly.
Neither the flight attendants or the pilots informed us of the status of the jetway operator. No one apologized for the inconvenience.
Charging for bags creates a burden on TSA and a problems on the aircraft because everyone is fighting for overhead bin space. While it may look like a boon to the bottom line, it just passes the cost onto other aspects of the operation. Planes are delayed for luggage. Security screening is slowed. Flights are missed. There are consequences to every action.
I know the price of gas has gone up, but even airline employees aren't thinking about the traveler.
Get a clue. Crappy service means no passengers.
